The municipality of Bełchatów, Poland, has earmarked more than 8 million zł for the refurbishment and equipment of its schools and kindergartens ahead of the new academic year. About 4 million zł will be spent on summer‑time works, while the remaining funds cover upgrades to buildings and sports facilities throughout the city.

Mayor Patryk Marjan said the renovations aim to provide modern, safe and comfortable spaces for pupils and staff, meeting 21st‑century educational standards. The largest investment is the reconstruction of the sports field at Primary School No. 3, costing over 1.28 million zł and including a new surface, fences, goals and equipment for football and volleyball. Other projects include a full renovation of the gym floor at School No. 13 and roof replacement at several schools.

The overall goal is to improve teaching conditions and enable students to develop their sport and academic skills in upgraded environments.
