Beckham family returns to Portofino for sentimental Italian vacation

David and Victoria Beckham are vacationing in Italy, making a sentimental return to Portofino, the location of one of their first secret romantic escapes in 1997. The couple shared social media updates documenting their stay at the Hotel Splendido, noting that they are revisiting the same setting where they stayed nearly 29 years ago before their relationship was public.

The family, including children Cruz and Harper, has been traveling along the Mediterranean coast on their yacht, Seven. Following their time in Portofino, the group moved to the Amalfi Coast, where they stayed at the Borgo Santandrea luxury hotel.

Victoria Beckham has previously referenced the Portofino era in her professional life, having released a fragrance named ‘Portofino ’97’ inspired by the memories of that period.
