Becky G releases fifth studio album ‘Baraja Bendita’

Mexican-American singer Becky G has released her fifth studio album, ‘Baraja Bendita’, under RCA Records. The 17-track project explores her bicultural identity, blending English and Spanish lyrics while incorporating a wide variety of musical genres, including R&B, bachata, merengue, reggae, reggaetón, kizomba, and electronic sounds.

Described by the artist as a way to embrace all facets of her identity without choosing between them, the album uses the metaphor of a deck of cards to represent agency and destiny. The tracks were written by Becky G herself, emphasizing her creative control and authorship. The release follows her previous successful works, such as ‘Encuentros’, which reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Top Regional Mexican Albums chart.

In conjunction with the album launch, Becky G has begun a Vevo live performance series titled ‘2AM’, which aims to translate the shifting moods of the record into intimate visual environments. Additionally, the singer has addressed her relationship with fellow artist Karol G, dismissing rumors of rivalry and emphasizing their mutual support and friendship within the music industry.
