Law enforcement intensifies drug and traffic crackdowns in Romania and Moldova
Law enforcement agencies in Romania and Moldova have conducted several operations targeting drug trafficking and traffic violations.
In Botoșani, Romania, a man has been placed under preventive arrest for 30 days following allegations of high-risk drug trafficking. Prosecutors claim the individual sold drugs in the form of liquids intended for vape devices. This investigation follows a previous 2017 case involving the sale of ethnobotanicals.
In Moldova, police have intensified efforts to curb distracted driving. In recent days, approximately 70 drivers were caught using mobile phones while operating vehicles. In Bălți, authorities utilized drones to monitor and document similar offenses. Drivers face fines of up to 600 lei and penalty points for these violations.
