Bediz Koz's 90-year design legacy documented in new book

A new book documenting the 90-year career and professional legacy of Bediz Koz, a pioneer of modern furniture production in Turkey, has been published by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Publications.

The work was developed as part of the DATUMM (Documentation and Archiving of Modern Furniture in Turkey) and oral history projects aimed at studying the history of furniture and interior architecture in Turkey. The book includes oral history interviews, project documents, anecdotes, and visual materials.

The research was led by academics including Prof. Dr. Deniz Hasırcı from IUE and Prof. Dr. Zeynep Tuna Ultav from Yasar University, with contributions from Doç. Dr. Deniz Avcı and Dr. Melis Örnekoğlu Selçuk. The publication serves as a resource for interior designers and students, highlighting the often unrecorded roles of women in the history of modern interior architecture.
