Bedonia implements model to attract remote workers and families

The municipality of Bedonia in the Parma Apennines is implementing a strategic model to encourage permanent residency and combat depopulation by targeting families and remote workers. This initiative seeks to offer a sustainable alternative to urban living, particularly as extreme summer heat in cities becomes more frequent.

To support long-term residents, the town has developed a comprehensive service infrastructure. Educational offerings include all academic cycles, featuring specialized high school tracks in agriculture, maintenance, and enogastronomy, alongside the ‘Infanzia 365’ service designed to assist working parents.

Healthcare is supported by the Casa della Salute, a pediatric center, and home care services, with 24-hour medical assistance provided by the Italian Red Cross. Additionally, the territory offers advanced digital connectivity, with 5G coverage spanning approximately 90% of the municipal area, facilitating remote work opportunities.
