Bee swarm attacks hikers near Cerro de la Beata in Zamora

A group of hikers was attacked by a bee swarm during an excursion near Cerro de la Beata in Zamora, Michoacán. The incident occurred near the site known as ‘Cueva del Ermitaño’ on a Saturday night.

Emergency responders, including Municipal Civil Protection, Rescue teams, and the Red Cross, deployed an Incident Command System to locate the group. Rescuers found at least 16 people who were stable, though some required immediate medical attention on-site.

Three individuals were transported to medical facilities for treatment due to multiple stings: Susana A. A., Gerardo M. L., and Héctor Alejandro S. M., who was hospitalized. Search and rescue operations concluded near midnight.
