Beef industry scholarships support future agricultural leaders

Various scholarship programs are providing financial support to students pursuing careers in the beef and agriculture industries.

The Colvin Scholarship Fund, established to honor Certified Angus Beef co-founder Louis “Mick” Colvin, recently awarded $100,000 to 24 students. These recipients are studying production agriculture, industry research, or other agricultural sectors. The program saw an increase in interest this year, with 229 applicants compared to approximately 159 last year. Since its inception in 2002, the fund has distributed a total of $833,500 to 227 students.

Additionally, the CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship, managed through the National Cattlemen’s Foundation, is accepting applications for its 2027 cycle. This program offers ten scholarships of $1,500 each to high school seniors or full-time undergraduate students. Eligible applicants must be involved in areas such as education, communication, production, or research related to the beef industry, and must have a connection to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
