Bečej Municipality Honors Local Contributors on Annual Day

The municipal assembly of Bečej held a formal session to mark the town's annual celebration, awarding individuals and groups for notable contributions to sport, science, culture, social welfare, entrepreneurship and agriculture. Recipients included Radmila and Rastislav Petričević for decades of karate coaching and judging, researcher Ferenc Mak for his work on Hungarian culture in Vojvodina, actress Marija Horvat, the cultural society “Kutašpusta”, social worker Jovan Vujkov, entrepreneur Milan Sekulić and agronomist Miodrag Jandrić. Special thank‑you recognitions were presented to Gimnazija Bečej (centenary), the Technical School (140‑year anniversary), musician Vladimir Bukić, kinology judge Sanja Momčilović Bognič and football club “Jedinstvo”. Municipal leaders Igor Kiš and mayor Vuk Radojević highlighted the importance of multi‑ethnic coexistence and reviewed major infrastructure projects completed in the past year, such as a 62‑km sewage network, wastewater‑treatment plant, school renovations, road rehabilitation and a free kindergarten, amounting to an investment of roughly 4 billion dinars.

The ceremony concluded with a reception for guests at a local restaurant.
