Beelen hosts German Pétanque Championships with new pilot format
The German Championships in Tête-à-Tête and Tir de Précision were held in Beelen, featuring a pilot project to address the difficulty of finding host clubs capable of providing 64 courts. For the first time, the Tête-à-Tête championship was conducted using only 32 courts. While this model is considered feasible for the faster-paced Tête-à-Tête format, it resulted in players having to wait between matches, creating new organizational challenges that will require evaluation.
In the Tête-à-Tête competition, Thibault Puchot of PC Hanweiler secured the title after defeating Clement Melnikoff 13:3 in the final. In the Tir de Précision category, Justin Neu of FV07 Diefflen claimed the championship. Neu, who holds the German record in the discipline, won the final against Sascha Löh with a score of 41:32, following a narrow 35:34 victory in the semifinals.
