BeEQC releases perception report for Aachen 2026 World Championships

The BeEQC report regarding its first practical application during the 2026 World Equestrian Championships in Aachen has been released. The BeEQC is a participation app designed to investigate how equestrian sports are perceived by different groups, including the general community, professionals, and experts.

The report clarifies that the project was a practical test under real event conditions rather than a scientific study or a new judging authority. It aimed to identify recurring patterns in perception rather than providing a definitive evaluation of the championships. To avoid fueling heated debates with decontextualized data, the organizers chose not to publish all results as simple rankings or percentages.

One specific finding noted that approximately 66 percent of observations regarding head-neck position in dressage were categorized critically. However, the report emphasizes that this does not mean 66 percent of horses were problematic, as the app records perceptions rather than veterinary diagnoses. Overall, the results showed a nuanced picture, with eventing receiving particularly positive perceptions.
