Bega Valley Councillor apologizes to MP; new deputy mayor elected

Bega Valley Shire Councillor Mitchell Nadin has issued a formal apology to State MP Michael Holland following an email sent from his official account earlier this year. Nadin acknowledged that his previous communication, which questioned whether Dr. Holland was ‘high on self-prescribed drugs’, fell short of the standards expected of a councillor.

In the same council meeting, Tony Allen was elected as the new deputy mayor for a two-year term, winning a 5-4 vote against Clair Mudaliar. The election followed a debate regarding whether the deputy mayor role was necessary for the council's operations.
