Beheira Governorate celebrates National Day in historic Rashid

The Beheira Governorate is celebrating its National Day, commemorating the historic resistance of Rashid residents against the English campaign in 1807. To mark the occasion, Governor Jacqueline Azer conducted a walking tour through the historic streets of Rashid, including Dehliz al-Malik and Sheikh Qandil, to inspect urban development and heritage preservation efforts.

The celebrations included the ‘Art Street’ event, which showcased local talent and historical identity. During the festivities, 10-year-old Waad Ahmed Al-Beltagi drew significant attention with a Tanoura folk dance performance, marking her first public appearance in the art form. Governor Azer honored the young performer for her talent and participated in welcoming a tourist group of approximately 50 visitors to the city's archaeological sites.
