Beheira medical convoy provides free healthcare to over 3,600 citizens
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed the results of a comprehensive medical convoy held in the Beheira Governorate from August 24 to 29, 2026. Organized by the Supreme Medical Committee and Reliefs at the Cabinet in coordination with the Egyptian Cure Bank, the initiative targeted the centers of Abu al-Matamir, Wadi al-Natrun, and Damanhur to provide free medical services to citizens in high-need villages.
Dr. Naglaa Abdel Moneim, head of the Supreme Medical Committee, reported that the six-day mission provided examinations, treatments, and necessary medical tests for 3,676 citizens. The convoy included various medical specialties, with a specific focus on ophthalmology. Key outcomes included the distribution of 452 medical glasses, the identification of 213 cases requiring ophthalmological surgery, and 102 cases requiring general surgical intervention.
In coordination with Beheira Governor Jacqueline Azer, officials met to discuss expanding these medical convoys and health initiatives to ensure broader access to free healthcare for underserved populations in the region.
