RCS Group begins 75 million euro recycling plant construction in Werne

The RCS Group has officially broken ground on a new RCS Plastics GmbH facility in Werne, Germany. The project represents an investment of approximately 75 million euros and is being constructed on a 6.5-hectare expansion area.

The new site is expected to be completed between late 2027 and early 2028. It will serve as an independent operational unit encompassing production, logistics, administration, maintenance, and service areas, with a planned processing capacity of roughly 100,000 tons of plastic material per year.

The facility will focus on recycling various plastic fractions, including HDPE, PS, and PET. A primary objective is the production of high-quality recyclates suitable for food packaging, specifically targeting the upcycling of HDPE cap closures into food-grade materials.
