Beija-Flor de Nilópolis holds second samba elimination for 2027 Carnival

The samba school Beija-Flor de Nilópolis has held its second elimination round to select the samba-enredo for the 2027 Carnival. During the event, ten compositions were presented, with seven advancing to the next stage and three being eliminated.

The theme for the 2027 parade, titled ‘Zeneida: O Sopro do Pó de Louro’, was developed by carnival designer João Vitor Araújo. The theme focuses on the biography of Zeneida Lima, the last pajé of Marajó Island, highlighting her roles as an educator, composer, and environmentalist. This marks a return to the Marajó region for the school after 29 years.

Several compositions were highlighted during the elimination process, including works by partnerships such as Márcio França, Paulo Cesar Feital, Junior PQD, and Marquinho Beija-Flor, which utilized rhythms like carimbó to reflect the cultural heritage of the theme.
