Beija-Flor to select 2027 samba-enredo honoring Zeneida Lima

The samba school Beija-Flor is set to hold a grand final this Thursday in Nilópolis to select its samba-enredo for the 2027 Carnival. The chosen composition will honor the life and legacy of 92-year-old pajé Zeneida Lima, a prominent local leader, activist, and environmentalist.

Four songwriting partnerships are competing for the title. These include three local works and one composition from the Pará-based school Bole-Bole, which was selected during a dedicated stage in the state of Pará. The event is scheduled to coincide with the week of the feast of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, a saint to whom Lima and the people of Pará are deeply devoted.

The celebration at the school's quadra will feature musical performances by interpreters Jessica Martin and Ninno do Milênio, alongside traditional displays by the school's dancers and veteran members.
