Beijing and Hangzhou launch AI computing power support initiatives
Chinese cities are introducing innovative financial and service models to support the artificial intelligence industry by addressing the high costs of computing power.
In Beijing's Economic-Technological Development Area, the “Yi Qi Token Loan” has launched, providing nearly 2 billion yuan in credit to AI industry enterprises. Unlike traditional lending that relies on physical collateral, this product uses an enterprise's Token consumption, computing power service contract value, and technical capabilities as core credit indicators. Beneficiaries include companies like Guoji Intelligent Control and Shenzhou Guangda, which received credit lines to support R&D and operational needs.
Similarly, Hangzhou has announced a pilot program to issue “Token cards” to entrepreneurs within 35 municipal university entrepreneurship parks starting September 20. This initiative marks the first time a local talent management department in China has provided AI computing power support through Token cards, aiming to alleviate the recurring costs of AI model usage for startups.
