Beijing and Shanghai auto shows agree to maintain biennial schedule

Organizers of the Beijing and Shanghai international auto shows have reached a consensus to maintain the established biennial alternating schedule. This decision follows industry concerns regarding a potential scheduling overlap in 2027.

Under the agreed framework, the Beijing Auto Show will be held in even-numbered years, while the Shanghai Auto Show will be held in odd-numbered years. To address the 2027 calendar, the Beijing event scheduled for March 27 to April 5, 2027, will be held as a professional themed exhibition rather than a comprehensive general show. This prevents functional overlap with the 22nd Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, which is set to take place from April 23 to May 2, 2027, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

The coordination between the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the Shanghai Committee on Promoting International Trade aims to optimize industry resources and support the high-quality development of the automotive sector.
