Beijing celebrates 18th anniversary of the People's Republic of China

In October 1967, Beijing celebrated the 18th anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Republic of China. The commemorations included a gala dinner at the Great Hall of the People, hosted by Premier Zhou Enlai for foreign guests.

On the following day, large crowds gathered at Tiananmen Square to witness a parade led by Mao Zedong. The event featured a march by the People's Liberation Army, characterized by highly symmetrical formations, and concluded with a fireworks display.
