Beijing launches 'Rapid Response to Public Complaints' platform
The Beijing 'Rapid Response to Public Complaints' platform was inaugurated on October 12 in Beijing. The initiative was organized by the Beijing Municipal Government, China Media Group (CMG), and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Since establishing a rapid response system in 2019, which utilizes the 12345 hotline and online platforms to address citizen requests within 24 hours, the city has processed approximately 200 million cases. Yin Li, Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, noted that the initiative aligns with President Xi Jinping’s focus on people-centered urban development and the use of modern technology to improve governance.
CMG Director Shan Haixiang highlighted the global interest in the city's administrative processes, noting the release of the documentary 'Hotline Beijing 2' on October 11. The launch ceremony included messages from international figures, including UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach, Luis Vassy of Sciences Po Paris, and Georgios Giannaros, First Deputy Mayor of Athens.
