Beijing man crashes electric bike into van during video meeting

A man in Beijing, China, caused a traffic accident after colliding with a parked van while participating in a video meeting on a public electric bicycle. Surveillance footage showed the man was heavily distracted by his phone, failing to slow down or avoid the vehicle, which resulted in him crashing into the van's rear lights.

The collision caused the man to fall and sustain bleeding injuries to his hand from broken glass. Witnesses and the van driver noted that immediately following the crash, the man's primary concern was retrieving his phone to continue the meeting rather than checking his injuries or addressing the accident. The video conference reportedly remained uninterrupted even as medical personnel assisted him into an ambulance.
