Beijing unmanned coffee shop sets Guinness World Record

A new 24-hour unmanned coffee shop in Beijing’s Chaoyang District has set a Guinness World Record by producing 202 cups of coffee in a single hour. The 7Fresh Coffee outlet, located at Galaxy SOHO and backed by JD.com, utilizes robotics and artificial intelligence to operate without human baristas.

The automated system can prepare drinks in approximately 20 to 30 seconds and is capable of processing seven to eight beverages simultaneously. Customers place orders through self-service kiosks or the JD App, allowing for high levels of customization regarding sweetness, coffee strength, and other concentrations.

While the shop is presented as a fully intelligent unmanned establishment, some observations suggest that human personnel may still be required for maintenance tasks such as battery replacement or managing operational interruptions. The initiative reflects broader advancements in AI-driven retail and automation within China's service industry.
