Beşiktaş eyes Europa League second leg against Midtjylland amid opponent injury and Johan Bakayoko talks

Beşiktaş entered the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round with a 1‑0 home win over FC Midtjylland, thanks to Orkun Kökçü’s goal. The Turkish side is preparing for the return leg in Denmark, where Midtjylland will be without forward Victor Bak (also reported as Victor Bak Jensen) after he sustained a injury in the second half of the recent Sonderjyske match. Coach Mike Tullberg said the player’s condition “does not look good” and further medical checks are needed.

Meanwhile, Beşiktaş has intensified its transfer activity, targeting RB Leipzig winger Johan Bakayoko. Discussions with the Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah’s camp are reportedly advanced, and the club hopes to finalize Bakayoko’s signing soon. Bakayoko, a 23‑year‑old Belgian‑Ivorian who rose through various Belgian academies, has a market value of around €20 million and is contracted to Leipzig until 2030.
