Beşiktaş targets Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock for January

Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı has indicated that the club intends to revisit its pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock during the January transfer window. Adalı noted that head coach Vincenzo Italiano is highly interested in the player. Although Beşiktaş previously attempted to secure the transfer during the summer window, the deal could not be completed because Newcastle United requested a £20 million transfer fee.

Willock's current contract with Newcastle United, signed in August 2021, is set to expire in the summer of 2027. While the player's family and manager have reportedly met with club officials in Istanbul, Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has expressed satisfaction with Willock's performance and potential, suggesting the club wishes to retain him.

Whether Newcastle United will lower their valuation during the mid-season window remains uncertain, as the club continues to evaluate the player's role within the squad.
