Beşiktaş Vice President Hakan Daltaban addresses betting investigation

Beşiktaş Vice President Hakan Daltaban has issued a statement following his referral to the Professional Football Discipline Board (PFDK) by the Turkish Football Federation regarding a betting investigation.

Daltaban stated that he opened a legal betting account approximately five years ago with the intention of protecting young people in his circle from illegal gambling environments. He claimed the account was used for controlled, small-scale entertainment where winnings were never withdrawn.

Daltaban noted that the total amount of transactions did not exceed 2,500 TL and emphasized that none of the bets involved Beşiktaş matches. He asserted that the account was closed long ago once he realized it was inconsistent with regulations for club executives, maintaining that his actions were not driven by profit or addiction.
