Being Heumann trailer released for Judy Heumann biopic

Apple Original Films has released the trailer for ‘Being Heumann’, a new film drama directed by Oscar winner Siân Heder. The movie is based on the true story of Judy Heumann, a central figure in the disability rights movement in the United States.

Set in 1977, the narrative follows Heumann, portrayed by Ruth Madeley, as she leads a group of activists in a sit-in at a federal building in San Francisco. After being ignored by government officials, the protest evolves into the longest occupation of a federal building in U.S. history. The film depicts the struggle for equality and the challenges faced by the movement as they demand accessibility and an end to discrimination.

Mark Ruffalo stars as a government official involved in the negotiations with the protesters. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on Apple TV on November 13.
