Beirut to host international film festivals in October 2026

Beirut is set to host two significant cinematic events in October 2026. The 13th edition of the Lebanon International Short Film Festival, organized by the Tiro Association for Arts and Theater, will take place from October 11 to 13 at the Colisée Cinema in Hamra. The festival will feature 60 films from 15 countries, including Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, India, and Greece, focusing on narrative, documentary, and action works that address human and social issues.

Simultaneously, the European Union Delegation to Lebanon, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Metropolis Cinema, will host the 30th edition of the European Cinema Festival from October 8 to 17 at Metropolis Beirut. The program includes 24 modern European feature films, restored classics, short films, and virtual reality experiences. The festival aims to foster engagement through workshops and poster exhibitions, offering winners the opportunity to attend international film festivals in Europe.
