Beiwacht wins Chamfern Stakes at Caulfield

Beiwacht secured a dominant three-length victory in the Group 1 Chamfern Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse over 1400 meters. After previously struggling in distances outside of 1400 meters, the horse demonstrated its specialty in the event, maintaining a lead from the start to finish ahead of the field.

Mr Brightside finished in second place, followed by Cosmic Crusader in third. Other notable competitors included Jimmysstar, who finished ninth, and Angel Capital. The race was run on a soft 6 track surface.

Prior to the race, attention was focused on Mr Brightside due to its consistent performance in this specific stakes race, having placed in the previous three editions. Trainer Ciaron Maher also entered five horses in the event, including Angel Capital, who was noted for strong recent performances despite recent racing luck.
