Bekasi authorities mediate village election dispute and oversee transit construction
In Bekasi, Indonesia, a dispute stemming from a village head election in Lenggahsari has led to the relocation of ancestral graves. The conflict arose after supporters of different candidates exchanged insults following the September 2026 election. Because the graves of one family were located on land owned by another, the tension escalated, resulting in the removal of graves that had been in place for over 20 years. Local authorities, including the Cabangbungin Police and military personnel, have since mediated the dispute to resolve the tension between the families.
Separately, the Bekasi City Government is progressing with the construction of three new Transjakarta bus stops along the B41 corridor, which serves the Cawang Sentral-Vida Bekasi route. Construction is currently underway at the Komsen stop in Jati Asih and two other locations in Cipendawa, Rawalumbu. The Komsen stop, measuring 10x2 meters, has completed its foundation stage. The Head of the Bekasi Transportation Agency stated that the chosen locations are optimized for high traffic volume to ensure efficient bus operations.
