Bekasi City expands people's markets to support MSMEs

The Bekasi City Government is promoting the expansion of people's markets within residential areas to provide more business space for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative aims to create new economic growth centers by transforming residential zones into spaces for both living and economic activity.

During a recent visit to the Vida Bekasi area, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar and Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto reviewed a pilot program involving a people's market and a car-free day event. Mayor Tri Adhianto noted that the city currently has approximately 350,000 MSMEs, with 165,000 already possessing permits. The government plans to continue improving trade centers, including Pasar Baru Bekasi, to better connect MSME actors with consumers.
