Bekasi infrastructure projects focus on flood resilience and traffic flow
The Bekasi City Government is preparing alternative routes to maintain vehicle mobility during the construction of the Bulak Kapal Flyover. Mayor Tri Adhianto identified the Ampera area and Jalan Muhammad Yamin as the primary alternative paths. The government is also exploring the use of railway frontage roads to connect Rawa Panjang, Bulak Kapal, Ampera, and Jalan Muhammad Yamin to ease congestion and stimulate economic activity. The flyover project, which receives nearly Rp188 billion in central government funding, aims to improve safety and traffic flow at a level crossing.
Separately, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono inspected the reconstructed Kemang Pratama Bridge in Rawalumbu. The bridge, rebuilt following flood damage in March 2025, features a new pillarless design spanning nearly 80 meters. This design is intended to prevent debris accumulation and withstand high water levels. The Rp60 billion project, funded through the Regional Road Decree Program (IJD), has passed load testing and is expected to improve local mobility and safety.
