Bekasi RDF plant targets January 2027 operational date
A new Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) processing plant in Bekasi Regency, West Java, is scheduled to begin operations in early January 2027. Currently under construction, the facility will utilize waste from the Burangkeng Landfill as its primary raw material.
Asiana Technologies, the investor behind the project, has signed agreements with the Bekasi Regency Government and PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk, which will serve as the offtaker for the produced RDF. The plant is designed to process 1,250 tons of landfill waste per day, yielding approximately 650 tons of RDF daily.
Poltak Sitinjak, founder of Asiana Technologies, stated that the project aims to expand the use of waste as an alternative fuel. The company intends to implement a business-to-business model without government subsidies and plans to develop similar facilities at other landfills to supply the cement and steam power plant (PLTU) industries.
