Belal Muhammad expresses interest in fighting Mike Malott

UFC welterweight fighter Belal Muhammad has stated he is open to a matchup against Mike Malott if a planned fight with Kamaru Usman does not materialize. Muhammad indicated that fighting Malott would be a strategic move to rebuild momentum following a three-fight losing streak.

Following a recent knockout victory over Joaquin Buckley in Edmonton, Malott has seen a rise in the rankings. Muhammad noted that defeating an opponent on a winning streak, such as Malott, could restore his standing within the division. While Muhammad expressed a preference for fighting Usman, he emphasized that he does not intend to wait indefinitely for that specific matchup.

The potential bout comes as both fighters occupy high positions in the welterweight rankings. Muhammad is currently ranked seventh, while Malott follows closely behind.
