Belarus orders sudden combat readiness check of armed forces

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered a sudden combat readiness check of the country's armed forces. According to Alexander Volovich, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, the exercise aims to test the ability of military units to conduct combat operations under modern battlefield conditions.

As part of this check, one brigade will leave its permanent base to carry out a series of undisclosed tasks. Volovich stated that the specific nature of these tasks remains confidential and will depend on decisions made by the military leadership and the General Staff. The exercise will place particular emphasis on modern fire control and strike methods, specifically incorporating lessons learned from military conflicts in Ukraine and Iran.

Volovich urged the public not to view the sudden movement as an indication of something extraordinary or supernatural. This military activity follows reports of Belarus increasing its military presence near the Ukrainian border, including the formation of a new airborne assault brigade in the Gomel region.
