Belarus works to organize meeting between Lukashenko and Trump
Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov stated that Minsk is working on the practical organization of a meeting between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to Ryzhenkov, steps are being taken to facilitate this dialogue. He noted that Trump had previously invited Lukashenko to participate in a Peace Council held in the United States. Ryzhenkov explained that Lukashenko was unable to attend the council in person due to the difficulty of traveling from Belarus to the U.S., citing European Union sanctions that restrict the flight of Belarusian aircraft.
Lukashenko has previously expressed that a meeting with Trump would be highly beneficial for Belarus and has indicated a readiness to cooperate with Washington to normalize bilateral relations.
