Belcastro administration opposes Anas SS 106 Jonica project

The municipal administration of Belcastro has expressed strong opposition to the Anas project for the new SS 106 Jonica state road. Local officials argue that the infrastructure plan was designed without objective criteria and fails to account for the actual needs and protection of the territory.

Key criticisms include a lack of access roads for agricultural lands that would be isolated by the project, potentially leaving dozens of local businesses and farmers unable to reach their fields. Additionally, the administration noted that the plan fails to provide for the necessary upgrading of provincial roads, such as SP 4 and SP 5, which will be required to handle increased heavy vehicle traffic from the construction sites.
