Belfast authorities find no Novichok nerve agent after reported exposure

Authorities in Belfast have confirmed that no traces of the Novichok nerve agent were detected following a reported chemical incident in the city. The investigation was launched after a woman claimed she had come into contact with the highly toxic substance, prompting a major emergency response.

Emergency services, including hazardous materials teams, cordoned off part of Harper Street in the Short Strand area of east Belfast. Residents were asked to evacuate their homes while firefighters in protective equipment investigated the scene.
