Belford Roxo advances bilingual education infrastructure
Mayor Mariana Canella is overseeing the construction of a second Municipal Bilingual School in the Heliópolis neighborhood of Belford Roxo. The new facility, situated on a 6,000-square-meter site on Avenida Heliópolis, is designed to accommodate 1,000 students.
This project follows the July inauguration of the first bilingual school, the Engenheiro Belford Roxo (Global School) in the Guaraciaba neighborhood. That initial unit also serves 1,000 students from 1st to 9th grade, offering instruction in Portuguese, English, and Libras (Brazilian Sign Language).
The municipal administration emphasizes that investing in bilingual literacy aims to expand academic opportunities and global access for local youth.
