Belgian biotech firms secure funding for clinical trials

Belgian biotechnology companies Novadip Biosciences and Remynd have secured significant funding to advance their respective medical therapies.

Novadip Biosciences raised €10.4 million (approximately US$11.98 million) through a convertible financing round led by New Science Ventures. This brings the company’s total convertible funding to €20 million. The capital is intended to support the late-stage clinical development of NVD003, an autologous cell-based therapy for congenital pseudarthrosis of the tibia (CPT). Novadip is currently conducting a Phase 3 trial in the US and Europe, aiming for market authorization by 2028.

Remynd has received a €3.5 million investment from the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF). The funds will support a Phase 1b clinical trial, scheduled to begin in early 2027, for its drug REM392. Unlike many current Alzheimer’s treatments that target amyloid, REM392 is designed to repair septin filaments to improve synaptic function in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease.
