Belgian clubs Standard Liège and Union Saint‑Gilloise make key coaching and transfer moves

Standard Liège announced the signing of former player Jonathan Legear as an assistant coach on a three‑year contract, tasking him with the development and performance of attacking players. Legear, who featured for the club between 2015 and 2017 (34 matches, four goals and four assists), said he was “very happy to return to Standard de Liège” and looks forward to contributing to the team’s progress.

Union Saint‑Gilloise identified 21‑year‑old right‑back Denzel De Roeve as a potential replacement for Anan Khalaili. De Roeve, a former Club Brugge youth product who later played for SK Brann, has made 58 appearances for the Norwegian side, scoring four goals and providing five assists. While Union is interested, Brann is not prepared to sell at this stage, so a transfer remains uncertain.
