Belgian cyclers face health and scheduling challenges

Belgian cyclist Marion Norbert-Riberolle has been forced to pause her season after medical examinations revealed heart rhythm irregularities. The 27-year-old rider, who competes for Crelan-Corendon, underwent a procedure to address the issue. While no other abnormalities were found, she is currently focusing on her health and hopes to resume supervised training in the coming days, though a competitive return date remains undecided.

In a separate development, Lander Loockx of Unibet Rose Rockets is adjusting his winter schedule to prioritize road racing. The 29-year-old has transitioned from a focus on cyclocross to a more prominent role on the road. To prepare for the 2027 road season and avoid burnout, Loockx plans to limit his cyclocross appearances this winter, following his participation in the Superprestige in Overijse.
