Belgian drama series ‘1985’ explores police corruption and terror

The Belgian drama series ‘1985’ is scheduled to air on the channel ONE. The series follows two young police recruits, Marc De Vuyst and Franky Verhellen, as they enter the Belgian elite police force during a period of intense internal corruption and social unrest.

The narrative centers on the fallout from Major Vernaillen’s exposure of a high-ranking officer’s involvement in drug trafficking. As internal power struggles escalate, the country descends into a wave of terror linked to the ‘Brabant Killers’ murders.
