Belgian football stars holiday in France, eye Premier League roles after World Cup

Following the World Cup quarter‑final run, several Belgium internationals took high‑profile vacations. Kevin De Bruyne spent time in southern France accompanied by Steven Defour and Charles De Ketelaere, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtous attended Tomorrowland in Boom and posted a photo with Paris Hilton. Fellow international Maxim De Cuyper also appeared at the festival.

Midfielder Christian Burgess, now holding a Belgian passport after moving to Union Saint‑Gilloise in 2020 and playing for KAA Gent, said he feels strongly connected to Belgium and could become eligible for the national team.

Belgian players continue to feature prominently in the Premier League. Jérémy Doku recorded eight goals and eleven assists for Manchester City. Youri Tielemans transferred from Aston Villa to Manchester United. Senne Lammens was highlighted as the season’s top transfer, while Roméo Lavia and Mike Pender aim to secure regular places at Chelsea.
