Belgian sports clubs launch new seasons with growth ambitions

Several sports clubs in Belgium are marking the start of new competitive seasons with organizational updates and ambitions.

DIVAS VK Ninove and DIVAS United Denderhoutem officially launched their new football season with the inauguration of a new clubhouse and canteen located near the SK Denderhoutem complex. The club, which recently received the ‘Fubalista Club of 2026’ award, aims to become the largest women's football club in Flanders. Their model focuses exclusively on female players, offering programs starting from the age of 2.5 years.

In Michelbeke, the volleyball club VLAVO Saturnus presented its women's team ahead of the 2026-2027 season. The club is entering the new period with a partnership with Flanders Cobblestone and has set sporting goals that include potentially reaching a top-six position. Their season is scheduled to begin on October 3 with an away match in Zoersel.
