Belgian towns host summer market festivals in June
Sint‑Lievens‑Houtem held its Zomerjaarmarkt on 27‑28 June, featuring live concerts, a vintage‑and‑handicraft market, children’s activities and a food‑truck promenade. The event also marked the opening of a new street and celebrated the 40th anniversary of the local Kreazolder ceramics centre.
From 12‑14 June, Veurne organised the annual Veurnse Batjes, a three‑day shopping weekend with late‑night sales, free oliebollen, street entertainment, spring‑castles, a letter‑hunt and the Boats & Bites harbour festivals. Both programmes aimed to boost local commerce and provide family‑friendly recreation in the town centres.
