A 24‑year‑old Belgian woman living in Liège was transferred by Belgian authorities to France under a European arrest warrant and placed in pre‑trial detention in Paris. She has been charged with association of terrorist offenders to prepare an explosive attack on the Bank of America headquarters in Paris, as well as with possession and transport of explosive material linked to a terrorist organization.

Investigators say she recruited three adolescents, offering them between €500 and €1,000 each, to place a homemade explosive device in front of the bank. The youths attempted the attack on the night of 26‑27 March and again the following night, but police intervened before the device could be detonated. A total of five suspects, including two minors, are now in detention.

The plot is believed to be possibly connected to the extremist group Harakat Ashab al‑Yamin al‑Islamiya (Hayi), which in March claimed responsibility for attacks on Jewish communities in Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
