Belgian workers balk at stagnant wages and seek flexible pay while IT staff downplay job security

A Remote survey of Belgian employees shows that 68 % are worried about stagnant wages and 55 % would consider quitting if pay concerns are ignored. Workers increasingly want autonomy over their earnings: 38 % prefer same‑day payment, 19 % favor on‑demand withdrawals, and 11 % are open to receiving part of their salary in stable‑coin cryptocurrencies. While 73 % are satisfied with their current pay, 47 % seek better benefits and 41 % prioritize clear, reliable payment processes.

Separate findings from Randstad’s Employer Brand Research, which polled more than 11 000 Belgians including 395 ICT professionals, reveal that only 47 % of IT workers deem job security a key factor in choosing an employer, compared with 58 % across all sectors. The public sector leads with 74 % valuing security, followed by health care (64 %) and transport (62 %). For IT staff, a reliable salary and a financially stable employer rank highest among the attributes that foster a sense of security.
