Belgium Issues Guide on Recycling Barbecue Waste

EcoWerf and Fost Plus have released a guide for Belgian households on how to sort barbecue packaging waste for the PMD collection. The guide lists the types of containers that may be placed in the PMD bag, including empty plastic bottles and pots, plastic trays, foil, aluminum trays, metal cans, and drink cans, provided they are rinsed of food residues.

It also outlines common mistakes such as placing non‑empty packaging, disposable cutlery, charcoal bags, or barbecue tools in the PMD bag. Proper sorting helps recover valuable plastic, metal and drink‑cardboard resources, reduces landfill waste, and supports a more sustainable summer barbecue season.
