Belgium may gain Global Entry access by late 2026
Belgian travelers to the United States may soon benefit from expedited airport processing through the Global Entry program. Speaking at the Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit 2026 in Brussels, U.S. Ambassador to Belgium Bill White stated that President Donald Trump has approved plans to extend program access to Belgian citizens.
Managed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Global Entry allows pre-authorized, low-risk travelers to use expedited lanes at major U.S. airports. For a $120 fee, participants receive reduced waiting times and access to TSA PreCheck, which remains valid for five years. Currently, the program is restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
Ambassador White noted that officials are working with the Belgian government to finalize the necessary bureaucracy, a process being personally overseen by Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot. A final agreement could be reached as early as the end of 2026.
